While many of you reading this are already enjoying the life-changing impact of fiber internet, many others are eager, maybe even bordering on impatient, for the long-awaited call to schedule your in-home installation. Afterall, we’re now one-third of the way through Quarter 4. Tick-tock!

We hear you and wanted to share this general update. Now that we’re almost through the first year of our five-year build, we plan to begin sharing monthly construction updates so that everyone, particularly those of you in active zones, is aware of the progress we’re making.

First, rest assured that we are on track to light up all promised areas by year end. We ran into unforeseen railroad permitting hurdles in a couple of our zones, but fixes are in place and it’s full-steam ahead.

In a nutshell, here’s the general update on all of our currently-active zones:

Calvin: All construction is complete and home installations are in progress.

East Vicksburg – North Mendon:  The first official build of 2016! The walk-out work is complete and construction will start in the first quarter depending on weather. Darn Michigan winters! We expect to begin lighting folks up around May 1.

Northwest Cassopolis: All construction is complete and home installations are in progress.

North Three Rivers: All three circuits are well underway for the planned Q4 go live, and everyone should be lit by year end. Each circuit is on its own construction timetable, but home installations for everyone in the crowd will be complete by year end.

Schoolcraft: This was our initial soft-launch area and is fully constructed. However, it was also an area in which we faced those dreaded railroad issues. With our workaround in place, all service drops are complete and splicing is underway. We’ll be in touch soon!

West Cassopolis – North Edwardsburg: Construction is about 50% complete and we expect to begin lighting folks up around Thanksgiving.

West-South Dowagiac:  Another area where we encountered railroad issues. We’re now scheduling installs for folks on the east side of Amtrak, and doing service drops for those on the west side. Everyone will be lit by year end.

West-South Edwardsburg & East Niles: The second official build of 2016! Walk-out work is complete and construction will start in the second quarter. We expect to begin lighting up folks around June 1.

We know you’re ready, and we’re working hard. While we build and light up our active zones, we will continue to encourage grassroots work in the zones in pre-registration.  One or two more zones will be added to our 2016 build, so keep spreading the word!
