Have you ever felt like you were on the ground-floor of something HUGE?
We occasionally hear a co-op member talk about the day the lights first came on, and can only imagine how life changing it must have been. Electricity wasn’t a given in the early half of the 20th century, particularly for those in the rural space. But through the collective efforts of those who lived without, rural electric cooperatives were formed to bring power and light.
It’s interesting that we’re living a similar story today with high-speed internet, and it’s your rural electric cooperative that is paving the way on your behalf. There is something huge going on here in southwest Michigan, and we’re all on the ground-floor. Just think, 10 or 20 years from now, as your kids or grandkids are surfing the web, you’ll be able to say, “I remember the day high-speed internet was first installed.” The kids won’t remember life before it. But you will. And you’ll know what a game-changer it was for you, your family, and our greater community.
We produced this video to tell the story of the rural broadband revolution. YOUR story. We welcome your thoughts and comments about what it means to you to be part of this revolution. Feel free to share on the Comments tab of our TeamFiber website, or on our TeamMidwest or TeamFiber Facebook page.
